A strong performance wins Trilby Tour 2022 Qualifier at Kilnwick Percy

Jamie Hooper claimed victory at the 2022 Trilby Tour Qualifier at Kilnwick Percy Resort & Golf Club by five points to book a space in next years Championship.

A 11 handicap golfer from Hillsborough GC, Jamie scored a superb 42 points, for a round of 64 net, no easy task at a Kilnwick Percy GC in very challenging conditions.

One of the earlier starters, Jamie took a commanding lead after nine holes, scoring 22 points. The tricky weather then followed, making it difficult for the field to catch up. Ben Ruffell looked like he was making some moves after a strong front 9, scoring 19 points, but with more difficult weather and a 4 putt at 18, he fell away to T2.

Jamie said “Its been very enjoyable. I hit driver well, rolled some putts in from distance and in general, it’s been pretty good all the way around. I’d had some good rounds coming into this so it had given me some confidence”.

This win gives Jamie a place in one of next years Trilby Tour events, where he will be playing for a place in the Grand Final.

Jamie continued, “The course has been great, the greens in particular. It’s great to have the Trilby Tour back with the new owners and I’m Iooking forward to what they do with it next year”.
