Championship of Ayrshire 2023

The first event of the Trilby Tour 2023 season got underway in the glorious Scottish sunshine at Dundonald Links on Monday.

The field of golfers both male and female teed it up in the Championship of Ayrshire, with the aim to qualify for the 2023 Grand Final which will also be held at Dundonald Links in September.

There was an exciting feel around the venue as for the first time in Trilby Tour history, the event was broadcast live by Live Sport Now which allowed people from all over the globe to tune in and watch all the action unfold via a YouTube live stream.

Despite the roasting weather making conditions that little bit more difficult, there were some great scores posted as Lucy Renton shot 39 points off a handicap of 4 to become the 2023 Female Champion of Ayrshire.

There was also excellent scoring in the Men’s categories as Neil Kennedy was the male division two winner with 37 points while Leslie Boswell mastered division one with a score of 38 points.

Boswell also claimed the nearest pin prize on Hole 11, whilst Sam Goodwin collected the nearest the pin prize on the short but tricky 6th hole.

Lucy, Neil and Leslie all walked away with Motocaddy S-Series trollies, whilst Boswell also collected a Motocaddy bag for his nearest the pin and Sam claimed a Motocaddy GPS Rangefinder for his accurate tee shot, which he duly converted for a birdie 2.

Megan Fallon, Eva Woodward and Abby Nisbet all joined Renton qualifying for the Grand Final as well as John Stott, Graham Wilson, Andrew Cummings, Jason Date-Chong, Campbell Brierley, Alan Majury, George Kayes, Matthew Struthers plus Boswell and Kennedy who have also qualified from both the men’s divisions.
